Scientific words are only used when they help you understand the difference between products.
- Actin
- A protein that forms part of the cell’s internal scaffolding and is involved in cell movement.
- Agonist
- A substance that activates a receptor.
- Alpha-MSH
- A natural hormone signal from the melanocortin family, involved in pigmentation and other processes.
- Angiogenesis
- The formation of new small blood vessels.
- Coenzyme
- A small helper molecule needed for, or involved in, enzyme-driven chemical reactions.
- Collagen
- The main structural protein in skin and connective tissue.
- DAC
- Drug Affinity Complex. CJC-1295 exists in versions with and without DAC; these behave differently and are not interchangeable.
- Elastin
- A protein that lets skin and tissue stretch and return to shape.
- GH / HGH
- Growth hormone / human growth hormone.
- Ghrelin receptoralso ghrelin
- A receptor linked to ghrelin, a natural hormone involved in hunger and in growth-hormone release. A separate route to the pituitary gland from the GHRH pathway.
- GHRHalso growth-hormone-releasing hormone
- The natural signal that tells the pituitary gland to release growth hormone.
- GIP
- A hormone signal involved in the body's response to food and blood sugar.
- GLP-1
- A natural hormone signal involved in fullness, digestion and blood-sugar control.
- Glucagon
- A hormone that affects how the body manages stored energy — broadly, the counterpart to insulin.
- GnRH
- A brain signal that tells the pituitary gland to release LH and FSH.
- IGF-1
- A growth factor that works closely with the growth-hormone system.
- LH and FSHalso LH, FSH
- Two pituitary hormones involved in fertility and sex-hormone production — testosterone production in men and ovulation in women.
- Melanocortin
- A signalling system involved in several body functions, including sexual function, appetite, energy balance and pigmentation.
- Mitochondria
- Parts of the cell often described as the cell's 'energy factories'.
- NAD+
- A coenzyme used by cells in energy and other metabolic processes.
- NNMT
- An enzyme involved in nicotinamide metabolism and methyl-group balance.
- Peptidealso peptides
- A short chain of amino acids. Amino acids are the building blocks that also make up proteins.
- Pituitary glandalso pituitary
- A small gland at the base of the brain that releases growth hormone and several other hormones.
- Receptoralso receptors
- A receiver on or inside a cell. When the right molecule binds to it, the cell receives a signal.
- Subcutaneous
- Under the skin, usually into the fatty tissue just below the skin.
- Telomerase
- An enzyme involved in maintaining telomeres.
- Telomeresalso telomere
- Protective structures at the ends of chromosomes.
- Thymosin beta-4
- A naturally occurring protein involved in several cell and tissue processes. TB-500 is related to it.
- Tuftsin
- A natural peptide involved in immune processes. Selank is related to it.
- Visceral fat
- Fat stored deep in the abdomen around the internal organs.
